Press Release - June 2021

Rob Clarkson Appointed Managing Director of Neilson UK

Neilson Group is thrilled to announce the appointment of Rob Clarkson to the new role of UK Managing Director with immediate effect.

Rob joined the Neilson Group in January this year, spending 6 months as a Non-Executive Director, before moving across to head up Neilson Financial Services’ (NFS) UK business.

Commenting on Rob’s appointment, Gavin Donnelly, CEO of the Neilson Group, says

“Rob’s appointment recognizes the growing value of the UK business which has been created since inception in 2012 and now spans multiple routes to market including direct brands, aggregators, corporate partnerships as well as protection and mortgage advice.  As our first NFS Managing Director in the UK, Rob will bring an increased degree of focus to improving the quality of our current business as well as investigating new products and growth areas”

He continues “Neilson is an international business, and Rob’s appointment will also allow me to continue to explore Neilson’s expansion into overseas markets to help meet the continued, global need for people to protect their loved ones.”

Rob added “Having spent 6 months supporting and getting to know the Neilson business, I’m thrilled to be taking over the reins as the first UK Managing Director.  NFS is already a fantastic business and I believe there is huge opportunity to grow our share of the UK market.  I look forward to working with Gavin and the Neilson team to build on its success.”

In the UK, The Neilson Group Ltd sells thousands of proprietary policies monthly direct to consumers via its wholly owned subsidiary Neilson Financial Services Ltd (NFS) which was formed in 2012 and incorporates the retail brands British Seniors, Smart Insurance, Frankli and Zestylife. The Group also distributes a wide range of popular insurers’ products through its in-house protection aggregator and GoCompare partnership. Incorporating a full suite of distribution and policy administration capabilities, as well as a bespoke, proprietary IT platform and direct marketing business, means NFS can offer closely synchronized online and call centre operations to provide a complete omni-channel experience. These components can be combined to create compelling partnership propositions including white-labelling capability.  The Neilson Group Ltd also offers specialist protection advice through its whole of market advice firm, Neilson Place, and is committed to the cross-sector working party voluntary Agreement on access to protection insurance for people with pre-existing medical conditions and disabilities, launched in 2020.
